Default Just purchased a 850 T-5 R wagon

Hi guys im new the the whole Volvo scene and to be honest im new to cars in general. Im 18 and I own a 2002 Audi A4, but recently I did some reading on the '95 850 T-5 R Volvos and I felt this is a pretty sweet car. So I found one not too far from me and went to go see it, next thing I knew i was driving home with it. I payed $3,000 for it but it didnt have 3 pretty good dents and some scratches. Since this is a pretty unique car I`ve decided why not spent some money and make the car worth while, but I need some help with products etc so I figured this was the place to be.

1995 Volvo 850 T-5 R Wagon, automatic/black
Rough outline as to what I had in mind:
-Fix dents(one in door, one in hood, one in trunk)think I may buy a new hatch
-Repaint due to scratches
-Rims(6 spoke look good so far but idk)
-Chip
-Exhaust
-Sound Sytem

Any suggestions, feedback, ideas etc would be greatly appreciated because I am kind of lost(feel free to tell me my ideas are not good or whatever). At the same time I want to make this a pretty nice car. Thanks in advance.Ill try to take some pictures of the car tomorrow.

Let me just say you are very lucky to get an "R". Hell I even mention Volvo and that particular letter together in the same sentence to the wife and .......well you get the idea

Hello Clarke,

I hope its not too much $$$as Volvo is a fine, but not an inexpensive, car to fix or fix up.

But when done, mmmmmmmmmmmmm [sm=smokin.gif]nice car.

I`ll take pics tomorrow, I know a guy who works for a Volvo dealer so he took it with him to work today so he could check it out on the machine etc to see if there were any problems under the hood ,which I`m pretty sure there are not.

Most of the problems with the car are exterior related, trimming, dents, scratches etc, pics will be up on here tomorrow.

But in response to the expensiveness of the car, yeah I hope its not too much as well. But I fully understood coming in that Volvos are not cheap to work on, my Audi is the same way =x.

Alright I got the car back last night from the guy who works for Volvo, he said i few minor fixes to the suspension was needed but other then that it was pretty solid and definatly worth fixing.

But I did get around to taking pictures of it today, I cleaned it a few days ago so its a little dirty due to pollen and driving and ****. I uploaded them to another website and i dont wanna make a huge post with big pictures so here they are http://www.flickr.com/photos/11807904@N08/

Like I said it needs some work but im really looking foward to when the exterior is looking dentless and freshly painted. As you can see in the other photos in the gallery theres a dent in the hood, side, trunk as well as the trim up top is chipping away, and for some reason the trim on the front bumper was painted but that will be taken care of.

Looks good but also looks like someone molested the car. The Stock rims are missing and also looks like the R front bumper is missing. Other than that it looks pretty good.

Those wagons are soooooooo rare, that is the first black one I have seen. For 3k and its potential keep it for a very long time and enjoy.

Yeah they removed the stock rims because they said a couple tires blew out hitting pot holes so it totally bent the rim. I`m going to be buying new rims either way, and fixing most of the exterior problems for sure. If it wasn`t such a good car and so rare, I would have never bought it how it came =x.

cLarke,

Welcome to the Volvo world! I am a recovering Volkswagen Addict myself. I reccomend doing stage Zero any way. If you have access to a mechanic then be sure to check EVERYTHING in stage Zero. Things that are often overlooked because the "car is running great"

1: Vacuum Lines (ALL the lines)

2: Waste gate acuator adjustment

3: Blow off valve diaphram

4: PCV system and EGR

It might be a regular bumper with the fogs in it. They also fit in the regular bumper. There is marks on the regular bumper to cut out to fit the lights in.
