anybody fitted the k&n panel filter to there 850 apart from the saving of ever buying a filter again any other addvantages

 

Hold a K&N air filter up and into direct sunlight. Do you see all of those not so tiny pinholes? Do you really want unfiltered air going into your engine?

I know that most people think that the K&N is the greatest thing since "X-Box" video games. For my car, I purchase Hastings Premium air and oil filters.

 

thanks for that i have posted the same question on other sites ,replys so far are more not for fitting them and wishing to keep my car in the best of health looks like k&n are not for me

 

Depends on how K&N filter is serviced. Most people have the idea to use compressed air to dry the unit. This procedure degrades the filter media.Proper cleaning procedure and oil application must be followed. If these filters were "snake oil products", then why are they used by all manufactures in automotive,motorcycles, marine, aircraft and orv equipment at the competition level? I have been using K&N filters for more than 20 years and I am more than happy with the results.

 

I had one on my 1995 850 NA.

It was great. I hade zero problems with it.

Proper maintainence will keep it at its peak performance ability.
