Default keyless entry problems

I did do some searching online for a good 2 hours and everything I find says the same **** but I can figure out whats wrong...

So I read that the markers are suppose to flash while locking the car with keyless entry, mine does not.. my keyless works and everything seems to be funtional except that part.. and do volvo's have a horn chirp to say it's locked? I read that they do not.

Sorry for so many posts guys, I'm trying my best to find out **** on my own.

What year and model car do you have?

My pre '97 850's DO NOT FLASH or CHIRP. Have you read the owners manual?

i was surprised when i get my 94 that it doesn't flash or anything because my 97 does. i think it is normal for it to not, just how the system was then. but, i do not use keyless entry either

haha i know what you mean. you might be able to add the feature of the flashing markers but im not sure. someone with more knowledge of the electrical system would have to tell you. scutyde, a member on here, seems like the kind of person that would know about this

My '96 R flashed when locking/unlocking. Sure wish my '95 did. On the other hand, the solenoids make plenty of noise slamming either direction to let me know they're working.

My '95 doesn't flash or chirp. In the evening I can look to see if the dash indicator is flashing but other than the doors actuators clicking shut there isn't any indication on mine.

All 97 flash as they have a modified alarm relay (the red one) instead of the "starter plug". Cars prior to 97 will only flash if you have the Guard I or II alarm installed (most R have the Guard II this is why they flash). The normal remote (with the receiver near the glovebox) and the standard alarm will not flash.
