Check for sale areas on all the volvo forums: this one, turbo bricks, swedespeed, volvospeed, matthews volvo site, etc.

Good luck finding a yellow one, and if you do, expect to pay a pretty hefty premium on it.

Well first of all the actual T5R was only made in 1995 and only came in black and yellow. Yes there were a few green ones made, but from everything I have read none were imported to the USA. Now in 96 and 97 they T5R became the 850 R, but it is basically the same car. My white one is a 97 850 R and I do think it's probably a little better car than my 95 yellow T5R. Just seem to have less go wrong with it. Finding a yellow one is going to be kind of hard since only 185 of them were imported to the USA and there were only around 800 of the black one in 95 also.

The 96 and 97 came in a variety of colors, red (actualy two shades of red), white, black and maybe green. When I wanted my yellow one and could not find one, I bought the white one. Then about two years later I found the yellow one and bought it too. Good luck finding what you want. Personally I would love to find a red 850 R wagon with the charcoal interior or a yellow wagon of which there were only about 25 imported to the USA.

You don't say where you're from, but here is one in Fla. that looks to be in very good shape with only 101K on the clock.

ThanX Jim.

I am in Los Angeles. The one in Florida was sold three weeks ago. Called them (volvo123.com). They forgot to remove the ad. I would not mind to have any "R" if they are clean, nevertheless, yellow is my favorite not because it is rare, but, rather the unique color combo.

look very hard then.

I only ever came across a 850 R once, and it was gone before i could get it. Very sweet ride, black on black. If you want one yellow... well they sell paint nowadays, and you can pay people to paint 'em.

Start really looking and you'll find one. Chances are you won't find one in your area so traveling might be the way you have to go.

I got it easy, I only had to drive 2 hours to Portland, OR to pick mine up.

YUKI
Try this guy, i have talked to him while back ago (05/08/10) and let me tell you, this car is very very good condition, beautiful enough to make me park my car on street and put a note on his windshield. This car is located in San Francisco and i think it should be still here. Ill PM his email to you.
Good luck
Copy of my email
Hello, Thank you for the note, thanks for the interest in my yellow T-5R. I had posted the car for sale on ebay about a year ago with a buy-it-now price of $9,500 and got one person interested enough to fly up from LA to look at it. Unfortunately he was, how shall I say this? extremely particular and ended up making me a lowball offer which I did not accept. The car still has less than 60,000 miles, and I’ve verified the mileage electronically. ( another prospective buyer emailed me the steps to do it... ) Because of the age I installed a new timing belt, water pump, pulleys, air mass meter, coolant temp sensor, and more. You would be welcome to take it for a test drive, and perhaps make an offer, Cheers, Andrew

I seen that SF car before as well, last year. I also seen one that had 22k on it. I think it sold for about $12,000. If I had the money, I would have given $20k for it in a minute.

I had to fly to Queens NY to get my T-5R. It wasn't in the best of shape but the interior was a 4 of 5. I drove it home, about 1,576 miles. Took my daughter with me so she could learn a thing or two. If you travel, make sure you have some plates. In my state we don't need plates on a new purchase for 30 days but some states did not want me to cross their line without plates. Yikes, that was fun!!!

Hope you find something, looks like you have a few choices.
