Default Manual Shifting problems especially in reverse

I have the next problem with my manual gearbox.

8 out of 10 times i can shift without any problem at all. Then it shiftes like it's a new new gearbo. My clutch is replaced by a 850R clutch kit, this happened about 60.000 km ago.

The problem is that 2 out of then 10 times i cannot get the gear in. This especially happens with the reverse gear but also a lot with 4th gear. Sometimes it happens in all gears. Then the other moment it will shift like new again.

Strange thing is when i drive my T-5 as is should be driven i can shift without any problem, rattling etc. Even shift @ 6.000rpm is no problem.

With the enigine shut off, it's also difficult to change the gears.

Any possible sollutions? I myself cannot imagine the gearbox to be bad. This because downshifting is almost never a prob and i dont hear sync noises.

First think to do is inspect the oil in that trans. Would not hurt to drain it out after it's warm and replacing it with new. After the oil breaks down, the synchros work harder making shifting difficult at times.

+1 on the gear oil. Also, try letting the clutch out in neutral and then press it back in. You should be able to shift it into R now. I had an issue like this on my Mazda6 and even with changing the trans fluid, it would still do it once in a while. I tool the car to the dealer and they said it was normal.

+1 on FCP's post. I believe this technique is called double clutching.
