I just picked up a 97 n/a 850 wagon, love it!
I replaced the odometer gear and during that opreation I noticed there was no light bulb in TRACS, which I think is ok, since I might not have TRACS, but there was no bulb in the low oil location. Should I have a light there?

No, it should not be there. Early 850's had a oil LEVEL sensor and did have use for that light. But during '95 (I think) they decided to stop installing the system and just left the bulb out. There may be other bulbs missing from cars that don't have the system, i.e., TRACKS.

 

In my car the light came on along with all the warning lights when i put the key on the on position but mines a 95 so idk about the 97 :-|

 

I was working on a '95 base today and it had about 5 lights out of the cluster.

@ Gabyman: Are you sure you're not talking about the LOW OIL PRESSURE light? He is talking about a low oil level.

 

My 95 doesn't have the low oil light either. My housemates 93 does.

Mine doesnt even have the service light.

 

I'm about to adjust my dash to get the clip in place, after I do that, mine will no longer have the service light either.

 

Yeah my mistake, I was talking about low oil pressure ligt!

 

Thanks guys, yeah i'm missing the oil level bulb. I check the oil ogten so i'm not going to worry much.
