Default Moisture coming through the vents

Posting again as last time I posted this in the wrong forum.

95'850 GLTWagon

I have large amounts of moisture coming through the vents in the front which the a/c is not able to clear out. The moisture makes driving very difficult as the windshield gets fogged up - just to give you the extent of the problem.

Also the carpet both on driver and passenger side is wet with liquid that is mostly water but some other stuff (coolant/oil - not sure). The moisture increases when I turn on the heating, no coolant smell though I believe I am loosing coolant as a few days ago I had to add some. I am not driving much these days and therefore not sure if I am loosing coolant. No coolant on the floor in the garage.

Any help will be appreciated. If there is a link where I can get step-by-step instructions to fix the problem please guide me, as I have searched your forum not found many threads on this kind of a problem for 850.

If the heater core needs to be replaced please guide me to the instructions on replacing it.

A great fan of your advice.

Yes it sounds like a bad heater core.
There is a post on here about replacing it.

I agree, bad heater core. It will be very important to take any floor mats out after the repair and to let them and the carpet dry throughly. The last thing you want is a mildew problem in the car.

Remember that coolant really doesn't evaporate well, so I would take out the carpet and wash it well. I have coolant in my carpet, and a replacement heater core and plan to take the carpet out when I replace the core, and need to wash the carpet thoroughly.

Ditto on the heater core. You could also try a wet vac on the carpet to get some of the coolant out of the carpet.
