Tech, how is the trans swap going? I am very interested in knowing all about it, as I would love to have a 5spd Turbo. Besides the tans, and pedals will you need to reprogram the ECU? or make other changes to non-transmission items?

I would love to know what all is involved, so if I find a parts cart I can strip out the needed parts. There is no way I could bring a junk car home, but parts is a different story.

Thanks

There was a 3rd seat (tan leather) floating around locally on Craigslist.... I will see if the posting is still there!

Plans kept getting messed up as of right now the swap will go down the 29th of this month which is 2 weeks. I am going to take pics and make a write up about it.

Good luck, and I'm excited for a write up on it, I know there are some write ups on the manual swap on vs, but there aren't any pictures and just lots and lots of words, which almost makes it more confusing. When the time comes, if I can find a manual transmission or donor car, I will also be doing a manual swap.

Well the swap is finally done!!!!
I got to work yesterday at about 8:45 AM and did not leave till about 9:30 PM lastnight.
I ran into some trouble with a few things but worked through them. I was under a time crunch so I could not take as many pics as I wanted to but I have some I will make a post on and get a few more pics later to add to the other post. It will take a little while but I will make a nice walkthrough.
For now here is a teaser pic.

That's fine. I wouldn't be doing it until spring, same time as the engine swap, I think it'd be the easiest.

Yes it will. Worse part is the pedal swap. To me it really was not that bad once I had one apart. But still pretty easy. It was a little harder yesterday for me because a screwed up my back on Tues. and worked though it all week then yesterday. I am paying now!!!

Yeah, I heard they're pretty easy just because it's a direct swap, I'm not too worried about it, would just like to know what I'm going to be looking at and dealing with before I actually take it all apart. I'll make sure to keep my back in check for a couple weeks before hand then.
