New antenna mast won't get pulled in
The antenna mast on my wife's 1997 850 would not go down. I pulled it out and realized that there was about 15" of chord still in the motor. Pulled out the assembly this morning, opened it up and removed the remaining chord (easy job, actually). Put every thing back and inserted the chord for the new antenna down in. Turned off the radio and it started to pull it in (about 2 inches) then stopped. Almost seemed like it was jammed. I was sure to put the teeth pointing in the right direction. I even took out the assembly and visually inserted the chord to make sure it was getting all the way down in and hooked it up to power in the car, and same problem... Doesn't pull the chord in. I can hear the motor when the radio is turned on/off, so I assume the motor is working.
Any suggestions? I hate to have to now turn around and buy a new complete antenna assmebly.
Thanks in advance!

Yes, I'm trying to install a new mast. I think you may be right, it seems like when the motor starts to pull the new mast, it stops. I found a used complete assembly on-line for $75 and a new one for $119. My Volvo is a 1997. I'm thinking the used one will save me money. It has a 90 day warranty. What do you think?
