Yeah, the red S70s are nice looking. The one in the back with the peg reps is pretty quick. I think 13.7 in the 1/4. Also, the gray S70 and green S70 in the shop are both really quick, ones running turbo tuner. and the 242 in the garage is running megasquirt and is gutted. Pretty sweet. A lot of nice cars right there.

And got this in the mail today:

RICA Stage III Tune. Will be going in this weekend too along with white injectors.

Also have an IPD strut brace and right lower engine mount that will be going in, hopefully that will solve my clunking issues.

Wow! For some reason I thought you already had a strut brace. When are you going to get it to the track to get a new 1/4 mile time? Don't you use this car as a daily driver?

Yeah, I never bought a strut brace, thought I would get more gains out of the sway bars so I went for those, but then kind of thought that with the larger sway bars and coilovers I'm probably putting my strut towers through hell. lol.

And yeah, it's my dd. lol. It's a pain in the *** to daily, but fun as ****! haha. My dad even recommended that I should start to consider investing in a daily beater. haha. I also have an EBC in the car. so I'll have one boost setting for daily driving, hitting probably only 10 psi, and then a hi setting set for 16/17 psi for when I want to have fun.

And track times hopefully this summer.

These are on the top of my list: I want to do the speedo gear (already have part), a new evaporator (when I do the speedo gear), hubs all the way around, front 302 brake upgrade, a strut bar, along with the R front bumper spoiler. Then I will probably have a few dings repaired and fresh paint.

Same here. Would like to do hubs and 302 soon. Maybe this summer. Also bought a new accumulator to commit myself to doing the evaporator before this summer. So once I purchase the evaporator, I'll do that. Not really looking forward to it.

Well, put the tune in and MSD coil in tonight. MSD coil is no good. And to top it off, the tune isn't any good either. My car won't start with it in. Also, the radiator fan turns on when I put the key in spot 2 to turn on the accessories (lights, radio, etc). ****ing pissed.

ECU is getting overnighted back to VIVA. He said he'll take a look at it and fix it this weekend, and it should be getting overnighted back out on Monday.

Thanks Alan. However, as much as I enjoy working on it, I'm ready to be done touching it for a long time and just enjoy it.

No, it wasn't new, I bought it used from someone a long time ago but was told it was in good working condition. Don't know what was wrong with it, car wouldn't start with it in, but would start once the factory coil was put back in. Ordered one today for 50 shipped. Hopefully car will start with it in, otherwise I'm going to have to find a way to mount the stock coil since I had to drill out the rivets for the MSD.

I noticed ipd dropped theirs to $99. Are they necessary when running stage II or III?

What happened when you ran the new tune with old coil?

Well, I was still running my factory coil which is now 17yo and has 230k miles on it, figured it wouldn't hurt to replace. They're mixed opinions about them. Some say that the factory coil is better, some say the MSD coil is better. I want to find out for myself. But a lot of the people that have them say their car is stronger with the MSD in.

Tune + MSD = no start
Stock ECU + MSD = no start
Stock ECU + stock coil = start
Tune + stock coil = radiator fan running by itself and no start.

That really sucks!
For the Tune aspect sounds like the other post where it seemed to be the wrong ECU for the car.

On the coil I have been thinking about buying one for mine as well. I think I am going to wait to hear what you think about it.

I also have a Jacobs Ignition setup on the stang I have been thinking about converting to the 850 but not sure.

The jacobs setup is like a MSD box and coil.

Both spare ECUs I have are 072 ECUs. One is out of my car, and one is out of my old wagon, which was identical to my car (same year, trim, etc). I spoke with George and this has happened a few times over the years he's been selling the tunes and the radiator fan turning on confirmed it. He said that typically what happens is just a poor solder spot somewhere on the chip and the chip is completely fine, it's the soldering.

You can get an MSD 6A box for the car. I heard good things about those. They're around $150 I believe. And I'll let everyone know how the coil is. It just may be hard to compare to a new OEM coil because I'm replacing my 17 yo coil.

That is good news about the ECU.

I might buy a MSD later. I might try the jacobs for now to see how the 850 does with the extra Voltage going to the ignition system.
