Default Newbie and having stuttering problems at Full Boost...

car drives fine but when I smash the gas pedal down turbo kicks in and begins to stutter. Car ran great ever since I bought it 15k ago. Currently has 140k. I will pull the codes tomorrow and will report back to you. Major tune up was done about 10k ago. Any suggestions for the mean time? Thanks and Hello to my new volvo family.

Sounds like it is misfiring.

I changed out the plugs very recently.

I was thinking it could be a problem with air fuel mixture. It could rev perfectly and runs great during regular driving just at WOT I get Sad!

If it didn't start having problems until you just changed the plugs, I would look there for the culprit. IT could be a bad plug, bad wire, or something as simple as a loose wire/plug attachment. What type of plugs did you use? I have found Volvo's tend to prefer OEM plugs and not many aftermarket ones.

Are the wires OEM?
If so what is the date stamped on them?

Crap I dont think I was stuttering before I swaped out the plugs. I bought the bosch plugs from my friends Manny, Moe and Jack (pepboys). I got some codes pulled under the hood and they were misfires in # 1 and 2. I may borrow a OB2 reader just to verify.

Well I guess I should go to the stealership and buy a set of plugs. Hope this will be the culprit! Ill also check the date stamp on the wires.

I regapped the bosch plat. plugs to .25 and got no luck. Same old stuff. I guess the next step would be to buy oem plugs?
Was this the proper way to gap?

I think it's .028, but not certain. I have to look it up every time I change mine. I use nothing buy OEM Turbo plugs in mine and the last forever.

Are you running higher than stock boost?
If so gap to .025 in not .028 to 0.30 will be fine.

Yep, I do not know why, but Volvo's only seem to like the OEM plugs.
