Default no spark

94 Volvo 850 aitomatic.

Installed new fuel plump, relay, and pressure regulator the car ran great for many weeks.

Picked the car for about 4 weeks. Went to start it and it has no spark Coming from the coil.

Fuel system is functioning, replaced cam sensor, coil, and ecu. Still no spark. checked and cleaned all ground connections.

There is no check engine light on with koeo. No engine related flash codes. Also the low gear arrow is flashing never did before.

Need to get the car running and I really don't want to take it to the dealer.

Welcome to the forum 92jag Moved from "General Chat"

When you say no spark coming from the coil did you actually test for spark at the coil or at one of the spark plug leads ??
Did you use "new" or used for the coil and cam sensor ?? Had you tested the old parts or just replaced hoping to fix it ??

Tested for spark at the coil. Also tested the coil and Cam sensor tested ok but just because I tryed new ones and no luck. Since then I returned the coil but kept the new cam sensor the car does have 150,xxx miles.

I'm thinking it has something to do with bad wiring some where.

With the key on and engine off I should be getting a check engine light telling me the computer is communicating with the car. I get nothing but a flashing arrow.

Roll the shifter through the gears about 20 times and then try to crank it.

"Rowing" the shifter can clean and or reset the switch in some cases. Worked for me when I needed it. Foot on the brake, engine off or on, you go gear by gear from park to first. You go through every gear up and down and if you're lucky it works. Just don't yank it from park to first and jam it back up to park.

Tried the shifter thing a few times no luck. How is the pnp switch preventing it from getting spark? Any other vehicle I'm familiar with if you try to start it in a gear it won't crank at all. No engine related trouble codes are present either.

I didn't recommend trying to start it in gear. Did you roll it through the gears "20" times or 4? Is the car cranking? Have you tried to start it in "N"?

Just to make sure. You can crank the engine over over and you have no spark and that's what we're trying to figure out. ??
It will crank in park and also neutral but not when in R or a forward gear ??
