Odometer repair problem
I have a 97 T5 with a broken odometer. I ordered the gear, removed the
cluster, removed the 9 screws, and now can not get the front cover separated from the the main unit (with gauges). The unit shown on the FCP Groton site is not a turbo. Anyone else had this problem and what did you do? |
RE: Odometer repair problem
You have to remove the nut that screws onto where the turbo guage hose was. Then it should slide off.

It's not the gauge plate I'm having trouble with, I haven't got that far, but the front bezel frame which includes the plastic lens.

I always remove that last.
I remove all the screws holding the black plastic cover on and remove that. Then remove the circuit board then the rest will come apart. |
RE: Odometer repair problem
I goofed, didn't follow instructions correctly. I have the gear replaced now and preparing to replace unit in car. Thanks for your suggestions.

RE: Odometer repair problem
If you go and drive it and it either doesn't work or you get about 1 mile and it stops then stop the car and push the reset button a couple of times then start driving again.
