Oil leak but can't locate
Hey guys,
Oil is being leaked onto my cat and because that is the hottest part of the exhaust, it burns the oil giving off a terrible smell. I am burning about a quart every 300-400 miles.
My brother just replaced the oil return lines and gasket from the turbo so that is definitely a culprit, however, he believes it is leaking from the oil pan.
It seems like these leaks are coming about by an overpressurized oil system for which I know I need a new PCV soon. I am fearful of replacing tho because if the car does sell like my bro wants it to, a new PCV is a waste of my money. But all that is another story
Do 850's commonly spring leaks from the pan? If it is the pan, how do I go about fixing?

that is a pretty good leak.
It could be that your bro didn't tighten the oil lines to and from the turbo when he did the maintenace?
could very well be the PCV.
I would Wipe the pan and cat clean. after you wipe it, rub your finger across the pan gasket, look for fresh oil, same for the turbo. then turn the car on and look under to see if you can see anything leaking from the pan or turbo. You should be able to see a leak like if it is that bad.
