Default OK I finally found one! Platinum Limited Edition 850. More Q's for yall :)

Ok here's the deal. I went to San Jose to check out the car. Imediately I fell in love with this color! I love white cars & silver cars & this looks like it has both with some pearl too! Wish it had a black or gray interior though. Only saw a couple of dings & a few scratches on the bumpers, otherwise paint is still very clean for it's age & 154k miles. I test drove it & gave him a $200 deposit. Gonna pick it up this weekend. The guy is firm with the $3k the way it sits. He's giving me a factory spoiler (painted black), short ram intake, & factory CD 6 disc changer. Bad things are: it has a cracked windshield & some ugly stock hubcap style rims. Depending on price I have a choice of wheels/tires & some nice looking HID headlights & grill. What yall think? Also, few more Q's for yall:

*Are '96/97 R gunmetal Volans (multispoke, not the 5 spoke ones pictured) worth $600 with fairly new tires? Have a little curbage.
*What are those aftermarket lights worth?
*How about the aftermarket grill?
*Is the suspension different from the T5 or T5R
*What's some good lowering springs I can order?
*What other aftermarket gunmetal rims look good on these? What's the recommended rim/tire size.
*Anyone got pictures of a completely factory stock Platinum Edition?

This is what it looks like right now as I'm picking her up. Has the stock grill & stock headlights on it.

Here's when he had all his stuff on it:

$600 is a not bad price for the volans.

All your questions can be answered in these two sites: http://www.ipdusa.com/Volvo-850/c-1-72/ and http://www.eurosporttuning.ca/volvo_850_1993_1997_performance_parts.php

Those headlights look like the ones autolampsplus sells. They are on ebay and this site (Click here)

For the money he wants I want the Pegs with good tires and the headlights. What happened to the Persus wheels which are correct for the car? The guy appears to be an enthusiast which means that the car is likely better than most.

Nice Find! I also agree with Ozark Lee in that it's an enthuziast owned car and so you will have a good quality vehicle. If you end up with the car, ask for all the receipts so you can keep track of what has been donw on the car. I personally like the Volans over the Pegs but, that's me. That's what I run on my 850. That's not bad for those wheels and tires. Congrats!

Just did a Google search on Volvo 850 Platinum Edition and found this under images. Not sure those are the wheels that came with it or not though:

Another one, looks like the same wheels:

Fairly certain the Platinum edition only came with the tan interior. You found a good and the Volans with tires for $600 is a very good deal if they are in decent shape. Make sure you the anthracite ones though and not the silver ones. It looks good with the Pegs in the picture also though.

The wheels Jim posted are correct. They are named Persus.

As far as I know they are only available as a 16" wheel. I am at my cabin and on dialup but I can throw up some pictures of mine tomorrow.
