Default P0243 and Stalling: 1997 850 GLT (Turbo)

A day or so ago, I started the car and it stalled within 30 seconds. I tried restarting and it ran rough and died. I could not give gas or put it in gear and it would die.

I pulled code P0243: wastegate solenoid A circuit malfunction.

I searched and searched on here and discovered that many people pull the lone P0243 code and the problem might be a bad MAF sensor. I discovered that the car will run fair with the MAF unplugged so I decided the MAF was bad.

I went to the dealership to get the Bosch sensor (using the VIN) and installed it and the car won't run with the new sensor plugged in. $275!!

What else could be the problem????????

Also, on the actual MAF sensor (not the housing) what do the numbers mean? My original has the numbers:

665 23 1 A
106

I found one at the junkyard with the numbers:

692 12 1 A
106

What do these numbers mean?

Thank you all in advance for your help.

Also, could anyone tell me where the serial number on the motor is?

Thanks.

Well if this helps anyone out, I think I discovered my problem because other people suggested that I look for a "leak" somewhere past the turbo.

Look at the intercooler in the picture.

So for future reference if you get a P0243 code and the MAF is not the issure, make sure there are no leaks after the turbo.

Can you post a pic?

There shouldn't be any holes in the intercooler system so that could be your problem.

The stock intercooler does have a small pin hole in the bottom of them from the factory.
It is a drain hole for oil if the intercooler gets alot of it.
