Parking Brake Hand Lever Adjustment...
I know this is going back to the basics but how do you adjust the hand brake lever. My lever goes all the way up. Friday I tried to set my parking brake on a hill and pulled the thing up so far I broke the plastic on console under the armrest.
Is there a simple adjustment that can be made at the lever to stop it from traveling that far up or do I need to take the wheels off and adjust it there? I did see a bolt on the back of the had brake lever inside the panel in the armrest area. It looks like it had large torque hole.
Also, if that is the case, why should that adjustment have to be made when the shoes are not wearing down because no braking is done with them???

mine did the same and i adjusted the screw in the console and that is a fine adjustment and was not enough.
The best to do if it comes up that much would probably be to loosen the fine adjustment all the way, take the wheel off and adjust the spring behind the rotor, then do fine adjustment as neccessary.
You may also be able to see if one of the cables are broken by listening/seeing when you have the wheel off and someone pulls up the parking brake.
And with age the cables/springs could have stretched causing a need to adjust it.

Cool. I'll crank on that, if it's not where I want it to be, I'll jerk the wheels off and go at it there.
If you adjust with the wheels off, do you crank them all the way down and back up a turn or two? How do you know when they are adjusted right in there? Are they hard to adjust? Should I use some liquid wrench or something?

If yours holds still the console torx (i think t40) should do the trick.
Otherwise:
There is a small hole in the rotor and the adjusting spring is near the top (12 o'clock) I think my one side was around 11 and the other at 12
I turned the spring until brake touched the rotor and then backed them off a turn or two.
Then, while the wheel was off, I picked up the brake and tried to turn the rotor and then put brake down to mak sure it spun free. After that i adjusted the spring as needed.
