Default PCV System Post Replacement Issue

Installed a new PCV kit from ipdusa last weekend. Notice improvement in the idle speed vibrations, etc. I re-checked the hoses today and notice a split in the elbow that connects to the PTC on the inlet hose. Has anyone experienced the same problem? I may have to reinstall the PCV hose. Is it ok to tape it tight? See attchached picture.

if you do a really clean job of taping it with electrical tape, that will prolly get you by. personally i would run down to my local hardware shop and just buy a section of hose the same diameter and a case of bear and install it and drink it (my hardware store and liquor store are the same store... small a$$ town haha)

I had the same problem, the kit from FCP comes with spare elbows. There are easy to replace. No need to replace hose. Simple fix.

I thought the elbow is a sealed/glued attachment to the hose? I am going to check with the parts dept of a Volvo dealership today. I will post soon.

I am trying to guess as what caused the elbow to fail after just one week replacing the entire PCV system. Is it possible pressure could build up if the vaccum line is blocked due to a bad/blocked PTC? I did clean the PTC.

The vaccum line is connected to the inlet manifold.

Well if you did not replace the hose before than maybe from you moving stuff around and it put pressure on the older one and it just let go.

It looks like it was new. I would contact IPD about getting another of the small hoses that cracked.
