Question Phenolic Intake Manifold Spacer

I need to do my PCV system on my T5-R and i was wondering. While I'm in there im going to do the TB gasket and clean it all. And if i have EGR i plan to clean that up too. However at IPD they have a Phenolic Intake Manifold Spacer.

I'm sure some people on here have gotten on and put it on there car. Is it really going to drop my intake temp any amount that makes it worth the 70 dollars it costs plus shipping?

Has anyone done any test to find out what there intake temps were before and after? (i may be asking alot here)

Or has anyone just in general "by-the-seat-of-their-pants-dyno" noticed any good gains???

Thanks

Link does not work. That being said, I doubt it. The air is moving through the intake so fast, how much heat could it really pick up.

Thats pretty much what i was thinking. Plus i figured that the intake is alum. its in the engine bay... between a turboed engine and a radiator full of hot coolent... its going to heat soaked anyways...

Link worked when I clicked on it, but just for good measure:

http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index...c-spacer-kits/

Read that. There's proof from both sides.

I read the link.

I can’t believe I didn’t think of the injector spray target before... Glad I read it now...

Its official... it’s a non buy...

Plus why can’t anyone (including ipd) provide a dyno chart for this... seems like its just a snake oil item...

Of course I would love to be proved wrong with some legitimate data =)
