Default Pioneer stereo

I just got one of these for christmas, along with a set of pieces to make it fit. CC was offering a free installation, but when I called today the earliest date I could get was January 19th. I'm kind of impatient, and decided I'd rather do it myself than wait 3 weeks. So, I have a couple of questions:

1. Am I going to have to do anything with the wiring harnesses, or are they going to just fit together?
2. My FM radio is working very intermittently (maybe 5 minutes per every 100 I spend in the car). Any chance a new stereo will fix this, or is it more likely a problem with the antenna or wiring?

Any other tips?

Thanks for the help.

Did you get the harness to attach to the car?
If not you will need that.
That might fix the FM reception as well.

you're going to have to buy a wiring harness from bestbuy or something (they cost like 15$), then i would try hooking up the new head unit to see if everything is working correctly, your attena plug might have been loose and giggleing around causing you to get crappy signal

is your attena going up all the way when you turn your ignition on?
