Default Problems with automatic transmission

Hi
I have a problem with my auto gearbox, when in D or R with the brake on, I can feel a "throbbing" through the brake pedal like the car wants to move. I know it does but not with this sort of juddering which only stops after moving off.
The car's only covered 71K and the fluid is red but I'm intending to change it.
I read somewhere about the "soft neutral" and re-mapping the ecu?
What are your thoughts? Or is it a visit to a main dealer???

Hi tryinbe
Thanks for your reply.
It's a Volvo 850 1996 2.5 auto estate
I feel a bit of a fool as I took my car to a highly recommended auto transmission specialist who took it for a test drive, came back to tell me the engine was mis-firing! I should have realised!
Anyway, I removed the plug leads and found one with a burn hole in it's side and the associated plug fouled. I then removed the distributor cap to it find burnt and grotty! New parts ordered. My fault, had the car for a year and not checked it.
Now running sweet.
