Car runs smoothly most of the time but there are times when i press the gas pedal and the car doesnt accelerate. It feels like its getting choked up. Also, it stops on me but it seems fine when i restart it. We recently replaced the EGR (electric gas regulator). It was working well for a week but it started acting up again. This usually happens if i pass by bumpy roads. I need help!

 

When was the last time you replaced the cap, rotor, plugs, wires? Egr stands for exhaust gas recirculation.

Its been a while. Is that the main cause of my car's problems?

 

No that's not it. Is that what i need to replace??

 

Do you have a rough idle, misfiring? I would do a complete tune up. If your car is stalling after you hit a bump it sounds like something may be loose.....idk check all your sensor connections, check your vac lines. its kinda hard to say with the little info you've given us....and i don't think a bad egr valve would cause your car to stall mine was bad and had a leak and it just caused a rough idle.
