Default Rear Seat Removal...something died under it?

Hey guys...I believe something (mouse?) crawled up and died inside my wife's 850...stinks like crazy and I can't find the source. I want to take the back seat out and see if it is anything under there that is the source.

Can anyone point me to a source of information that shows how to do this?

Any other places I should look for deceased critters?

Thanks!

Jim

I believe the Owner's Manual shows how-to.

Rats also love the blower cavity. I have seen parts of these critters there.... They are waking up now. My neighbor told me that he had 2 mice today take a stroll on his windshield when he started the car in the morning.... LOL

Blower cavity eh? Sounds like it might be hard to get to. Not sure my wife has the owners manual - perhaps there is an on-line version available?

We found that the rear deck lid gasket has apparently leaked, as there was some water under the spare, and the "carpet" in the trunk was wet, as were some boxes my wife had stored in there (cardboard stinks when wet). I wiped out the spare well, and put a box fan in the trunk overnight. Wife reports the worst of the smell is gone.

I have a body shop buddy I'll get to replace the deck lid gasket, and get him to pull the seat out too just to make sure it is not wet under there.

I never was able to figure out how to take that rear seat out.

Thanks for everyone's input.

Default Found it!!!

Finally found the leak! it was the right rear taillight. Inside the truck with a flashlight with the life blasting all around the trunk lid with a spray nozzle on the hose. I think it is only leaking when I go through an automatic car wash, but in the Ohio winter that is something that is needed weekly. How do i tighten the lens to eliminate the leak? There are three 8mm nuts that I can see but would require a very deep socket to tighten then due to the length of the stud they are threaded onto. Any suggestions / pics of tools would be appreciated. Don't think i've ever seen that deep a 8mm, but a trip to Sears may be required.
