Default Removal of roof-rail/ raingutter?

Hey all, so im planning on doing some touch up work on the t-5 wagon, and im trying to figure out how to remove the upper rails, ( that used to be black and are now silver) Over time the black coating has chipped off the entire length of the wagon. Im hoping to get them all off then using the black spray paint i got from IPD, redo them to factory black.

Anyone out there have an knowledge on this topic?

Also, in regard to touch up, anyone have an positive or negative experience with the volvo touch up pen, for rock chips? Tips? tricks? Thanks!

You stand on the side of your car and pull the molding towards you to unclip it.
Sometimes the clips break.

Just be careful.

i did my rails last summer. pop the ends up with a plastic putty knife or something like that, pry the end of the rail up easy and be careful to protect the metal rib in the rail so it does not get bent. i sanded them with some 400 grit wet/dry and then carefully applied 3~4 coats of rubberized black spray paint. let them dry a day and carefully press them back in.
