not a big deal if you follow the instructions in a haynes manual to take off the dash top. seems like it is REALLY in 2 or 3 different sections of the book. the end caps come off, the speaker grilles are easily pried off with a small screwdriver, the glove box comes out (check your assortment of torx bits, a 1/4 inch drive here and there helps), the vents pry out to get to some screws and (i think) you have to take out the passenger airbag so BE SURE to disconnect the battery! be prepared for a lot of broken bits of plastic (vovo plastic is pretty bad). reach behind the panel to unplug the unit and lift up and out.
pretty fast work, can remove the top in about 20 min w practice! lol (been under there a LOT trying to fix odometer!!! )

and a picture guide

i would also change the odometer gear while in there..these are known to go bad and its fairly inexpensive
