Default Center dash bulbs - removing dash

Some of those little dash board lights are out around my temperature control and fan control on the center of the dash above the radio. How do I remove the center dash to get at those bulbs - it's a 2003 S40? Do I have to take the radio out? I don't have the original owners manual so I don't know the codes on the radio. Also are those bulbs available at Radio Shack? They look like the same bulbs I use in my Subaru and Infiniti. I'm sort of new to Volvo cars but I have been a shade tree mechanic for about thirty years. I also have a connection to Volvo so I can get dealer parts at a discount.

Quick photo of what I want to disassemble. Note: if you look real close you can see there is a small piece of wood sticking out of the hazard light switch. I turned on the hazard light switch and it would not shut off so I put a small piece of wood in the switch to hold it in.

Here is a link to another thread with drawings. Don't know if this will help.

The next step is removing the facia plate on the climate control. You can use a putty knife wrapped with a soft cloth to pry the sides of the facia. There are no snaps or clips so just gently pry the sides and the face platewill wiggle out. Now you can see the four screws that hold in the climate control panel, the radio surround, and the two vents with hazard switch. You are now ready to remove all of the rest of thecenter dash pieces. Once you have the climate control out of the dash you can see on the back there are three holes for three bulbs. I believe you will have to purchase these at Volvo since they are the longer style that are soldered to the lamp base. The hazard switch and the trip computer (option) have the smaller bulbs that you can buy at Radio Shack (part # 272-1092). You will have to pull those bulbs out of the plastic bulb base and then insert the new bulbs (very easy).
