Exclamation Replacing Control Arms

Hey, I definently need to replace my right lower ball joint up front. I was wondering since my volvo has 200k miles plus if I should just replace the control arm on both sides while I'm at.
If someone could point me in the right direction that'd be awesome. Thanks.

Unless the car is a '93 or a very early '94 you really have no choice, The ball joint is integral to the control arm on the later models and you can't just change the ball joint itself.

As far as replacing both at the same time goes I would be inclined to do just that since I always take them in for an alignment after I change any front end parts.

Be sure to get the car to its normal loaded resting position before you torque down bolts through the bushings.

Definitely replace the arms. At 200K the bushings are probably worn out anyway, along with the ball joints

Here is a HOW TO that can help show you how to change them.
