Default Reprogramming key fobs

I have heard a few different techniques for reprogamming key fobs. None have yielded any results yet. I have 2 850 Wagons and 5 remotes of the same type. On 1 of the wagons 2 remotes work with it. The others cannot be programmed to work with either vehicle.

HELP!!!!

The two that work... did you program those or did those already work?

They already worked.

What methods did you try? I'm sure someone who is better than I could probably tell you that your right, wrong, or that you should check the batteries.

The method was the following:

turn ignition to the on position (but do not start the car) 4 times. On the fourth attempt press and hold any button on my remote and it should be reprogrammed to the cars transmitter.

I checked all batteries in the key fobs and they're fresh. I tried all 3 key fobs = no joy. I tried pausing for a second at the end of each ignition cycle - nothing.

I am out of patience. I was hoping that these key fobs would allow me to get the v70 white doorhandles that have no key hole in them... looks like I lose.

Assuming your method is correct (because I have no clue) it could be possible that the fob has died. I don't know what a replacement would cost, but I wouldn't imagine it would be too bad.

Try turning the ingition on and off five times. That's what I seem to remember.

Absolutely as Jim suggests, its, or at least it is on mine, 5 times and leave ignition on at the 5th time.

I did this a couple of days ago with a remote from ebay and it did the trick.

Good luck.
