Volvo Transmission Cooling Hose Retainer - 6842411 | FCP Euro

This is the part that failed, tried getting it back on and it cracked, dunno if it was wear or too much gusto, but it's now in two pieces! Glad it decided to pop out in the parking lot, and not on the road! This could have been very, very bad! I tried getting a hose and putting that on, popped right back after I started it after putting more oil in. Any ideas how to make it stay in?

Seems to be holding for now. I don't trust it, but it's working for now.

I dealt with something similar this weekend. I replaced my radiator and when I hooked the oil and transmission lines up to the new radiatior and started it, the clip on the lower oil hose let go. I guess the years and taking it off just were too much for it. I went to the dealership and picked up a new clip ($13) and the parts guy asked if I wanted two. I didn't figure I needed it.

I got home, installed the new clip on the lower hose and started the car. The top hose clip failed. Back to the dealership. I bought 3 clips, one for the upper hose and two for the transmission side.

I'm not sure where you are, but it's much cheaper to pick them up at the dealership. Part number 6842411. Good luck.

I'm waiting for the parts to show up in the mail! This is holding really well, it's not even leaking oil where the hose meets the radiator anymore. After I get the new clip on, I'm going to cut this hose lengthwise, and clamp it down again. That ought to keep it on well and tight, as well as help prevent any leaks!
