Scanning my 1997 GLE
Hey guys,
I know there has been some past posts about this (I did an hour of reading and now am more confused) but I have an ABS light on, dealership told me it was the abs control module, replaced with used unit that was inspected, didn't work. I have a beautiful 1997 850 GLE which is the best car I've owned. Bar none. Check out speed sensors and wheels- so far don't know what it is. My friend has three scan tools (including a great matco scan tool) but none of them can read the volvo abs and other volvo codes. So I need to get something. I've read about a few scan tools that people have used, so recommendations are great, but I also wanted to see if anyone had seen or tried this: http://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/mss/pts/1563768387.html Would that work? Is it worth a try? Is my best bet to get an older laptop and go from there? Any help would be apprecaited! |
Take a look on eBay. There is a scan tool that uses your laptop to scan the port and has all the codes for the abs system and everything else you can think of.
This is one of the reasons I will miss my OBD1 volvo 850. |
Do you know which ones are best? There are a few on there....

I am thinking of getting something like this and then buy the OBD2 to usb connector so that I can connect it to my car.
