Default should I block off my emission shut off valve?

On my car, part #3 in the photo below was melted. Part #5 is allowing exhaust gas to flow towards part #3, thats what melted it.
For now, I dont have the money to replace either. I removed part #3 from the car.
I can feel gasses coming out of the hose leaving part #5. Should I plug the hose? That is un-measured exhaust gas. I think it should be plugged until I can replace the 2 parts. I just wanna make sure thats not going to adversly effect anything.
thanx.

Yes, plug it.

Otherwise you have an under hood exhaust leak that can get sucked in through the heaters intake and make you sick. Carbon monoxide is no ones friend.

thanx, thats what I was worried about, just didnt want to hurt anything.
I didnt think it would, since gasses aer not supposed to flow that way anyway.
