hi guys, just wanted to know what are the recommended plugs for a 1995 850 gle (non turbro) and what is the correct spark plug gap (or is the gap already set?)..thanks

.030 thousands for the gap. If it was turbo and your were running high boost I would reccomend .025. Some come gapped and others don't.

If the old cap is OEM use that it is all numbered.
Yes I am in Florida All the flooding is about 25 miles from me. We got lucky and it was just north of us. I am 5 miles from Disney.

as for the plugs, i took one out to see...they are Bosch super Plus #: FR7DCX are these okay? The gap on these are way more than .30..there is alot of play....i couldn't find the ones you mentioned...they told me they are discontinued(it wasn't a Volvo dealership...more of a parts/hardware store) ...let me know thanks

Those plugs are fine. The FR7DP plugs we still use everyday and are not discontinued. But yes they will work fine.
When are you coming down this way?
Are you going from the airport to St pete using I-4? I am about 5 miles off of I-4 on 192. Maybe we can meet up when you get here.
It will all depend on what day and time you get here.

 

Het Tech..thanks i will check out the gap..i know it's more than what you mentioned. We are arriving on the 29th in the evening, but will be sleeping at a hotel near the airport...then next day, we'll go back to the airport to pick up our car and start our drive down to st-pete's...i think it's the I-95 that we usually take, but i'll have to look at the map...i'll keep you posted before we leave and we can try to hook up when we get there...take care.ciao

Heey Tech..how are you? well i was taking a look at my spark plugs tonight...most of them are a little orange or rust color arund the "bosch" writting...also as i mentioned i have the FR7DCX plugs...but i have 2 of these plugs and the rest are the FR7DC or DP ones (can't recall now...) .does this make any difference? let me know.thanks

Ya they pretty much look the same..i think i will change them out...i might get some platinum ones... i was trying them out on my scooter so see the spark, it seems to not be that strong and it was more of an orange color not a bright blue or white...

hey Tech, near my work there is a volvo garage..i ended up getting a pack of volvo spark plugs...850 Series B5204FS spark plugs...they seem pretty good..they look like the platinum bosch ones..i wonder if they are the same thing? thanks

They might be the same ones but with Volvo written on them.

 

Hey Tech, ya i think they are the same, i tried them out and gave a nice blue spark....i just wanted to make sure that the wires are in are connected properly...do you know where i can see a pic of how they are supposed to be wired? i think that if the wires would be wrong the car probably wouldn't function at all..right? I looked at the old plugs' tips and they seem to be more on the "white" side ...is this a symptom of a lean mixture? i don't know if i should change the o2 sensor?......

Yes white means leaner mix. If the wires were wrong it would misfire all the time.

 

ya thats what i thought....any ideas? o2 sensors?? cleaning of throttle body? dirty injectors? maybe i can add an additive to clean fuel system?
