Hi all,
I'm finally getting at sorting out a few things on a recently purchased 93 850 GLT.
I noticed the 4 rear speakers weren't working at all. My Haynes manual wiring diagram shows what I think is a separate amp running the rear speakers. I can't find an amp and there is no electrical running from the audio unit port marked amp.
Does anyone know if the amp is an option? I've looked behind the radio unit and nothing there. The dealer on the phone wasn't a great help. Basically, make an appointment and they will check it out. Any help will be appreciated.

The amp is located towards the back, below the stock h/u. Perhaps your stock h/u is broken and not powering up the rear speakers since you don't have the plug where it goes to the amp port behind the h/u.
