Sway bar issue

I was driving yesterday and heard a bang so I looked under the car and found that the bolt/threaded part of the lower sway bar link on the passenger side had sheared off. This was an easy fix but could have been bad if the end of the rod had gotten jammed in the wheel. Just telling everyone to check these once in a while. I had replaced this with the lowest price one from IPD about a year ago.

Yikes! I don't think you could see anything going bad with situation like that.

They just break from time to time. What I don't like is no matter where you go you don't get ones that are grease-able. I dropped a bit over 50 bucks ea on a set of MOOG links and they aren't grease-able and they came in a sealed bag with German on it. I'm thinking they're the OEMs you'd get at Volvo just repackaged. They were thicker then the one's I replaced thought.

I do miss being able to grease things instead of just throwing it away and installing a new part. The part on this that bothers me is it was the bolt part it self that snapped and I can still move the ball joint in the end part and it feels OK. I put in a new one yesterday when I got home from work and when I took out the old one I could see that it was slightly bent.
