I have a buddy with a 1995 Volvo 850 GLT Turbo.. He has the chance to get a 1995 T5R ECU 072 ... Will he notice any gains and is this a straight swap???? Whats the most we should pay for it also ? whats it worth ??? As off a few mins the person selling the ECU is local and still has it for sale....

 

Yes straight swap. It will bring him from about 222HP to 240HP.
Not sure on price though.

It might but throw a Cell if it was from a EGR car and yours isn't EGR. They usually work better in the older cars from the newer cars.
I paid $170.00 for my ECU with an upsolute tune. It was from a newer non EGR car.

 

Ok cool, So it shouldnt matter that my 850 is OBDII and the other is OBDI ?

 

Actually its a 628.. with a big 7.2 on the right side.. Hmm I wonder if this will also work in my 97 850 GLT

 

Just get an ECU upgrade.

 

The computer I am running in my R was for an OBDII car and works fine on my OBDI car. It also deletes the EGR.

 

Well I end up getting the ECU for $20 bux... its a 628 95 T5R .. I installed it and the car seems to have a lil more low end and less lag from the start but nothing major.. But then again I think I may just be thinking that I dunno.... I hope I didnt waste $20 bux..... I drove the car for about 16 miles and still no CEL....
