Default Tail light conversion

Just wondering how difficult it is to swap the tail lights from a 93/94 850 to a '96? I prefer the cleaner look of the early 850's, but I'm not sure how much body work it would require to make the switch. Has anyone done it?

How is the plastic piece under the license plate held on? Adhesive? Hopefully there are no bolts holes or clips under there. I ordered a set of tail lights on ebay, but I just want to make sure I have all the info I need before I start taking things apart.
Thanks.

I don't think there is any. This is probably one of the most easiest upgrades for the 850.

Bolts on the outer and double sided adhesive in the middle.

I've always wanted to put on the 95+ tails, but I have a soft spot for my 93/94 tails

@ Gil: I've been watching for the swap on your car. I think you just want people to know you have an older 850 that is nice.

you may want to put some 3M foam tape under the center part just to reduce vibration

I think the 93/94's are a cleaner look. I'll take pics of mine before and after....but that won't be for a while. Too busy at work these days.....

Just showing people that the older tails are still clean and actually a nice break from the newer tails, but thanks for the compliments!
