Sorry for the apparently ignorant question, but today I noticed that anytime the car is running, the rear tailights are always on. They go off when the car is shut off, but when the car is running they are always on regradless of the position of the headlight switch. Is this normal and linked to the function of the DRL's or do I have a problem to fix?

volvo side lights are on all the time when engine is running[sm=gears.gif] i think sabb is the same must be a swedish thing. ive not had a volvo yet tht has no side lights when engine is running

 

Yes that is part of the Daytime Running Lights.

you can turn the DRLs off using the tiny screw that´s on the headlight position switch.
