Ive been reading up on how to fix the rattle in my tailgate so i took it apart, only to find out that already has a repair kit on it. The problem is, the plastic molding is completely broken off on the inner two mounts, so even if I were to get a new repair kit, theres no meat to screw it on. Does anyone know when i can buy a new tailgate interior panel other than the dealer?

I had the same problem with my old 855. I simply drilled new holes in the plastic of the panel and metal of the tailgate and just screwed the panel to the tailgate.

 

My 855 has holes drilled and long sheet metal screws also. last owner must have done it. Screws are hardly noticeable. Only had to open the panel to get broken pieces out to stop the rattling.

Mine is exactly the same.....Long steel screws on all four corners.
