Just wondering if it is normal for my 95 turbo's temp gauge to consistently only be about 1/4 of the way up vs. about half way. This has only been the case since it has been colder, but it seems as though it should be fairly consistent. My typical driving is 90 highway miles everyday and the gauge still stays at about 1/4 the way up after 20 min or so on the interstate?

If the needle on your temp gauge fairly consistant -- about 1/4 up, then the previous owner probably installed a 82C/180F thermostat. In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with a 180F thermostat. I have a 180F Stant SuperStat is all of my other vehicles. I have a 190F thermostat in my Volvo only because I am trying to keep it as close to OEM as possible.

If the needle on your temp gauge starts to behave irratically, then it is time to replace your thermostat before it decides to stick completely open or completely closed.
