Default Think of Selling My Yellow T5R

It has 225K on it and it runs just fine. Really I don't know anything that is wrong with it. I had the timing belt changed at 221K. I change the oil every 3K with Valvoline Synthetic Blend 10W30 oil and always use Mann or Volvo filters. Both the body and the interior are in very good to excellent condition.

What do you guys think it's worth?

I just want a newer car is the only reason I'm thinking of selling it. I just don't have a feel for what they are selling for right now.

Of course, a potential Yellow and I just bought a V70R.

I've been looking at Volvo prices most of the year, and they've really dropped. Unfortunately, I don't have anything to offer on a rare R as none of the cars I had my eyes on were Rs. They are slowly disappearing from the market.

I overpaid for my '98 V70R with 164K at $4400, but it was owned by an enthusiast, had some basic IPD goodies already installed, and I got a thick folder of maintenance history. I was confident that I was buying a solid, well cared for Volvo.

From what I've seen, I would hope you could pull close to $3500-$4K from a fellow enthusiast. I am always willing to pay more for cars I know have been maintained properly.

Hey Jim, I forgot you are in the Columbus area. I was there in Oct and would have liked to see your yellow T-5R.

If I were you, I'd do a compression test and have those numbers handy for the sake of letting people know how solid the motor is. As for a price, I'd shoot for $4,500 and go from there. My experience is that Volvo enthusiast don't pay fair prices, just aim for the general public. If it's in good shape, no tears in the seats, no big deals wrong, you should get no less than $3,500. If it's very clean, you can likely get more. The wagons seem to do better than the sedans.

I'll trade my 97 850R for your 95 850 T5-R, then you'll have a newer car!

I'm thinking of a 2007 Red V70R. Might go look at it today. Offer me $3500 for the T5R and I would probably sell it. I would like to sell it to somebody who knows what they are buying.

Right now I have the Volans from my 97 R on the T5R and I have a 97 R rear spoiler on it painted yellow and color matches perfect. The kind with the turned up dark grey lip. I have the original spoiler in my garage. It would only take about 20 minutes to switch them if you would rather have the original. If you buy the car you get both.

Not sure what they might offer me on a trade. I know people on these boards and volvospeed are looking for a real great deal. The PP Kelly Blue book is bull for something like this, but it even gives me $3500 as the value.
