Default TIRES: Black, Round, but with performance...

Okay, I'm a newbie here and just posted in the welcome area.

I currently have some Pirelli P6's on my 1993 850 GLT. It is certainly time to replace them and I was very disappointed in the performance.

Here is what I need: I'm looking for some good all-season tires that will take me through a Pennsylvania winter (say 4"-6" of snow). After doing many tire reviews I am still stumped as they (tires) all get good and bad reviews. I need some suggestions here.

Quite honestly I would love a RWL (raised white lettering tire), but am afraid that the Coopper Cobra GT that I was looking at will only accent my Vovlo's look and not give me the best of both worlds for look and winter performance. I may have to buy these just for summer (???). If you have any suggestions by all means please advise.

So, here is what I have reveiwed so far and am considering putting on my sweet ride....

1) Goodyear, Assurance Triple Treads (195/60/15)
2) BF Goodrich, Traction T/A (195/60/15)
3) Bridgestone, Potenza RE960 A/S

Again, any suggesttions and feedback is certainly welcome here - THANKS!

I would go with the Goodyears. Proven quality and performance

Thank you Psaboic.

Well, I'm getting antsy here and am going out to tinker around with my 850 now. Again, look forward to sharing and getting to know some people here too.

What about the Falken Ziex 912s?

They're a pretty nice budget tire. All-season, but to be truthful, it's more of a 3 season tire. You really aren't going to find a great all-season in the snow.

I spose I could mention that I do have 4 pretty much brand new Falken Ziex 512s in my garage. I used them for less than 2000 miles so they're just broken in.

Jimmy,

Let me know if this means you wish to sell your Falken's. Just email me from my profile.

BTW..... did a lot of touch up painting this past weekend. About 2 years ago, on a whim, I decided to paint the rocker panels and the bottom edging around the Volvo 850 a flat black and WOW - it turned out really nice and gave it a sporty look. I scuffed it out and used black truck bed liner, which held up very well.I was a little aprehensive to try it, especially without a clear or dull coat finish, but nonetheless it turned out better than my expectations. Just ordered a bra and wind deflectors for the windows and the sunroof. I feel like a little kid at Christmas - LOL.

Anyway, let me know about them tires.
