I haven't found a good textbook for automatic transmission myself. If you found something, that's good. If you haven't, you might want to contact colleges/vocational schools that have automotive technologies department and ask what textbook they use for automatic transmission courses. However, factory manual is usually the best (and most $$$).

I believe your tranny is AW50-42LE. My 850 is 1994 Turbo T5 sedan and that's what I have.
