Default Trunk/Tailgate Switch

Hi,
i just noticed that the light inside my trunk comes on sometimes and many times it doesnt. i checked the lamp and the switch inside the ligth assy. itself and all looks good. When i play with the wiring comming from the trunk going behind the left pannel in the trunk, it comes on and off. So, I am suspecting that the switch or some ground wire in there is making loose connection. please note that this car has been sitting for over 6 months before i picked it up about a week ago.
Can this also be making the lock functioninoperable from remote only ?- because I see some feedback going to alarm system from this wiring.

I would say maybe on the wiring. Also is the key lock turned all the way to the right?

I will check the wiring for any damage when other priority jobs (PCV and Front spring seat) are done. The key lock is stuck right in the middle (If I insert the key its in vertical position and doesnt move left or right). I tried to pull the lock out y'day but couldnt get it out. but I disconnected the rod connected to it and still didnt help. I will see if I could replace the lock relay from a junkyard sometime in comming week.

UPDATE!

The problem was in the trunk lock assy. probably from sitting out in the cold weather for few months. I sprayed it with some white grease and did open/close and lock/unlock with key few times and then closed the trunk. Drove the car to a plaza nearby in -23 C and as part of the habbit I pressed the lock botton on remote and, the smile was worth watching, I heard the locks working. It is working fine so far.

The trunk light still havent come ON but thats least priority for now.
