URGENT! PCV/Camshaft seals
URGENT!
I was planning on changing my camshaft seals this weekend, but discovered through the dipstick that i may have a larger issue with my PCV, smoke etc. I should not change my seals until I fix the PCV correct?
is it dangerous running your car with a clogged PCV? other then oil everywhere including your timing belt.
Also I can't seem to find a comprehensive list of the parts required to service it (PCV). I am in Canada and would prefer to buy it locally, but there appears to be no kits available.
thanks,
quick response would be appreciated as I am planning work this weekend

I dont know if you're going to be able to get the parts you need to do the PCV system by this weekend. If you can, I'd be amazed. Most people here order from FCP groton or e-euro parts or IPD or something. I'd go with FCP myself, since they're a site sponsor here.
I'd definitely wait to do seals until your pcv system is done, yes. As far as being dangerous....well, its not gonna cause your motor to lock up or anything, but it's definitely not good for the motor. I doubt waiting until next weekend will kill you or the motor. Just get the parts shipped to you and go from there.

PCV valve 1997 850
My 1997 850 has been leaking oil and blowing blue smoke - not lots of either - but noticeable. My mechanic said it is the PCV Valve. He estimates to replace this (labour and parts) will cost between $450-$650 as it is "a bitch of a job" quote!! He said it is about a 5 hr job. Can anybody verifiy if this is true?
