Yea its like a dvd that you load on ur comp and it has all the diagnostics and diagrams you could ever want. Google it. It's outdated now but I was at the dealership the other day and the guy at the parts counter let me see it.(they werent supposed to have it he said) I saw a download on bittorrent but in the comment section it seemed like it had some problems.

Find someone with an unlocked disc and borrow it. Otherwords I think people still sell them on e-bay.

You may want to invest in the workshop manuals though.

There's a copy right now on torrent floating around on the internet that is unlocked and has a ton of seeders. Should be an easy download.

Ohhh, that sounds like it'd be pretty nice to have. Does that just plug into the OBDII port from the lap top?

There's some kind of scanner tool that you need and you can plug it in. It's like 1300 for the tool tho, lol. And another 6300/yr for the program. So really only volvo/euro shops are going to be able to get them.

DAMN. I think when I start my wagon I want to get a really nice OBDII scanner, one that goes a little more in depth than just reading the code and that's it. But if I could get my hands on something like this, that would be way better.

If you have the money Programma makes a good scanner. Hannatech makes a good one as well but about the same price. Your best bet is to get an AST retriever tool with the circuit board for the early volvos. It gives you the Volvo codes instead of the P codes. That and a workshop manual and you're good to go.

yeah, you should, because if someone can find one that is unlocked, I would consider purchasing it.

basically what you are looking for is that the seller not only is providing the disc but is providing the info you need to be able to change the expiration date. Volvo diagnostic software likes to check back with the corporate server to make sure you are paying to play. To use a pirated disc you need to change the subscription expiration date. A good vendor will supply all of that info for you.

Unless you pony up for a VCT2000 VADIS isn't going to help you read codes. VADIS is great, however, for parts diagrams, part numbers and some repair procedures.

I think it is floating around on Bittorrent or Pirate Bay (Which, as of yesterday, may or may not be coming back). You can always buy a copy for under $20.00 on eBay. I bought mine off of eBay and I know it is authentic since the scribbled out VOLVO in sharpie on the face of the DVD was Volvo Blue.
