Volvo 850 front end scraping fix
Hi guys
this is more a a question of part importance because I have already fixed the problem.
The past few weeks whenever I would turn sharply to the left I would hear this horrible metal scraping/ vibration coming from the wheels. Today I removed the brake dust shields (the thin metal covers on the back of the rotors) and the sound went away (Woohoo!)
Now for the question
How important are these? can I leave them off with no issue? or should I see where it was scraping and try to rectify the problem and re-install them?
Thanks in advance
Nick

I wouldn't leave them off; they keep wet and grime off of the rotor/brake pads.
Find out where it's rubbing (look for fresh wear mark on the sheet metal) and bend/hammer it out of the way. This is common problem after someone was in there doing brakes or what-not.
