Hello, I have a 1996 Volvo 850 GLT, I have wanted to put new wheels on the car for a while now but never knew what to do, I don't want to get wheels that don't fit.
Anyone have any pointers or have previously done this and have recommendations. Anything helps, Thanks!
No, I have 17" Propus on my 1996 850R and 17" Volans on my 1997 850R. If you stay with the Volvo wheels, it will give you the correct offset. You might get a little rub on the inner fender wells with a full turn of the steering wheel if you don't have the little spacers on the front of the control arms.
you can pretty much use any wheel from other FWD Volvo models that have the 65.1mm center bore (Volvo went to a 63mm starting with the Gen 2 S40s in 2005 and then migrated model by model. Check tire-size.com to see which models match up. One other tip - as you go to low profile tires, up the tire pressure or you'll be risking blow outs with each pot hole.
