i got a volvo from my friend, its a 95 850 but it does not go in reverse, when u put it in N or R it goes forward, i have driven the car as far as 40miles and i dont feel the shifts so bad,
i connected a comp and i got this codes

P0730,P0172,P0245,P1310,P0300,P0304,P0303,P0305
also on the dash i got a flashing arrow and check engine and as soon as i start drivin it ABS light turns on

now one of my friends was telling me it could be the Gear position sensor for the reverse

any help

Im not sure if the PNP would do that. That is alot of codes from the tranny.

I would have to search to find out what they mean to help more.

 

could it be i need a new or rebuild tranny? im not familiar with volvo so i cant move around stuff like with my mazdas, also is this expansive to fix?

 

Very well possible a tranny. I would try to locate a used one. You can sometimes find them from between about $500.00 up to about 1k maybe a little more depending on the area.

 

P0172: Long Term Fuel Trim Pat Load or Idling
P0245: Turbocharger control valve
P0300: Misfire on more than one cylinder or TWC damage
P0303: Misfire on cylinder #3 or TWC(?) damage
P0304: Misfire on cylinder #4 or TWC damage
P0305: Misfire on culinder #5 or TWC damage
P0730: ?
P1310: ?

Either the tranny is retiring or the throttle/shift cable may need adjustment.

Sorry for thread revival but I too have the P0245 code about the Turbo selinoid A being low.

Does anyone know how this can be fixed?
