I can't stand pillar pods on anything thats not japanese. Pillar pods belong on volvos like an N1-style muffler belongs on a volvo. Just doesnt seem right to me. (TO ME!)

I knew i needed an accurate boost reading, it just makes sense on a car with a turbo, so i installed the autometer boost gauge along with an a/f gauge (really just to fill the other space, plan on changing it out with an egt gauge once tuning comes around).

Here she is, the only drawback is i lose the ability to open the ashtray. oh well, i can still open it, but its very tight and i imagine it puts alot of pressure on the gauges and thin plastic mounting panel.

Sweet...

very sleeper-ish!

No need for a EGT, get a wideband.

I like the look, very clean but I think it's to low for me. I was thinking about loosing one of my air vents for the guages myself. On the left. Just want to keep it in view at a glance.

The gauges have lighting.
The Boost gauge is either behind the dial or through the dial.
The AF gauge is only the LED needle.

I know that, but the boost guage has a bulb behind the dial, and he has to power it somehow and I was wondering how he is doing it.

Oh...your question made it sound like the light itself.... not the wiring.
LOL.

thanks for the replies and comments, i agree it is VERY hard to look at (as well as dangerous to look that far from the windshield) but its mainly for diagnostic purposes (making sure all is well under the hood). As far as lighting i used a piggyback splice off of the cigarette lighter's "lighting ring". My bulb for that was blown anyway. As far as the wideband goes, im ordering one for the other car, once the volvo (which is the DD/traveler) is modified to a place where it is deemed necessary to have one, then i agree i will install one of those in place of the narrowband a/f gauge.

Like i said that gauge was really just there to fill the hole.
I wish i could find a bulb of some sort to match the dash lighting, but i dont think thats possible, if anyone knows of a place that sells a 168 bulb that matches the lighting on the stock 850 dash bulbs.

Like the look. You shouldn't be smoking so losing the ashtray is no big deal.
