Default What the hell....My side mirror fell off...

My side mirror (reflector) fell off and I didn't even notice it....

I don't know when or where it fell....

Man this car is getting frustrating...So much needing to get replaced..

Has anyone heard about a side mirror just randomly falling off?

The entire mirror?
Or just the glass?

^The glass... I have never heard of such a thing...

Now I can see the heating lines though... (kinda cool lol). Also, the mirror glass looks to be held on by clasp buttons (like some people have on their jacket)...

The two on the right are clean, but the last one on the left looks to still have a white backing and then there is some shattered mirror scraps (about dime size). Does this sound like someone smashed my mirror or there is something wrong w/ the buttons?

It's even more frustrating since I diddn't even notice when/where it fell off....Driving w/o a mirror is annoying lol.

The glass seperated from the plastic housing?
The black part is still there and the motors still work?

I have seen the glass itself fall out many times.

You should be able to just get a new glass and install it.

^Yeah, the glass fell off. I'm going to buy new one. But what is the best way to ensure that it will stick? I don't think you can use tape or whatever because it'll pose a fire hazard lol.

Is there any way you can take a pic?

The new glass should come with the plastic to attach it to the motor assembly.

^Wow, these mirrors are hard to find....Found one on eEuroParts though for 40 bucks.

Tech, is this a common problem then? Because before this, I had never heard of this...

Edit: No problem about the long reply bit. I watched a movie (Blood Diamond - It's not bad) and came back and saw that post. Had to wake up early so I didn't reply.

This intrigues me....
Which one should I buy? The Ebay one is supposedly "better" and it's also cheaper...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VOLVO...QQcmdZViewItem
-$24.99 + $9.99
https://www.eeuroparts.com/shoppingcart.aspx - $39.90

It is more common with the older cars like 740,940,960's .

Happens from time to time on the 850.

Wow, this is rediculous. The ad promises shipping in 2-4 days but it's still not here.

I call them, have trouble getting contact and the guy told me he's shipping an order and would call me back...

Have I gotten a call? Nope.
Why does it seem like everyone besides me has no trouble? These guys are getting neg feedback for sure. Worst experience I have had on Ebay ever. Plus, the part is a matter of safety, otherwise I wouldnt' care as bad...

^Yeah, Ebay relaly sucks. I'm not a huge fan.

Their rules are rediculous. You can't contact the seller unless you have X number of feedbacks...I've bought quite a few things off ebay and I just recently figured out how to give feedback. LOL.

It has always been good till this transaction.

I have only bought 13 things off there.

Kind of leaves a bad taste in the mouth. But we will see if I buy anything else from there.
